The April Fool's Tax

Obama promised tax cuts to 95% of the people and beginning April 1, 2009 (April Fool's Day), this tax cut is supposed to kick in and those lucky 95% are supposed to see an extra $65.00/ month in their paychecks.

Now if it does happen and I am kind of skeptical that it will because the other day I read where the White House was looking for new ways to generate revenues to offset all the spending B.O. is doing. Of course you know where those revenues come from, US, the working class.

But let's say for arguments sake that it does take effect, let's see exactly if we will actually realize more money in our pocket or is B.O., full of it.

I will use myself as an example: Beginning April 1 let's say I see $65 more in my check. Now, I start looking at my taxes and fees (another way of saying taxes).

My property taxes went up $125/year .............+10.42/month

Utilities(fees on garbage,service availability, regulatory fees,garbage conversion fee,brush fee and environmental services fee...................+64.44/month

License tags went up $10.00/year x 2 cars = $20..........+1.66/month

Telephone Service and Fees.........................+20.78/month

Water Bill, water supply fee, aquifer fee, federal stormwater fee, sewer service charge and a water trip fee........................+27.52/month

My total taxes and fees...........................$124.82

gain or loss = <$59.82>

Now there were some things I left out, such as taxes on gasoline, oil and taxes on items you purchase at the store, which by the way they want to start charging a fee if you use plastic or paper. But you get the message. All you have to do is look at your own bills and see all the added taxes, surcharges and fees and you will see that we are the "FOOLS" and our President is giving us a very nice April Fool's gift. So the joke is on us!
