Economics 101

From an email received from my sister in law. Thank you Gerri!

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before ,but had once failed an entire class.

That class had insisted that Obama's
socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich , a great equalizer.

The professor then said , "OK ,we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

After the first test , the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.The students who studied hard were up set and the students who studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around , the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around , the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering ,blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed , to their great surprise , and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great , the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away , no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that.

If somebody is unable to understand THIS explanation , I have serious doubts about their ability to even function in society , much less run our country!

As the late Adrian Rogers said , "you cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.."

The George Street Witness

"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Isaiah 55:11

How strong is your witness and is it as consistent as the little old man on George Street?

Surely He Jests!

Al Franken called Supreme Court nominee Sotomayor "the most experienced Supreme Court nominee in 100 years."

I honestly thought that Franken had quit his day job to become a U.S. Senator but I guess I was totally wrong. He is still just a clown but now he has joined a bigger stage with the rest of the clowns.

What never fails to amaze me is how liberals tend to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find their icons.

The only thing Sotomayor is experienced at is her ability to keep racism alive and well in this country, which is so sad in view of the fact that Mr. Obama's election was suppose to have healed the racial divide.

Oh well, the comedy routine continues in Washington.

Which Way?

The following was found at the Old British Cemetery near Windsor Castle
"Pause, my friend, as you walk by;
As you are now, so once was I.
As I am now, so you will be.
Prepare my friend to follow me !"
Someone then added the following
"To follow you is not my intent,
Until I know which way you went!"

God Answers Prayers

Today I received a letter from Amy Voorhees, Executive Director, San Antonio Coalition for Life with some exciting news and proof that God is still in the business of answering prayers when His people seek Him with all of their hearts!

"Last week Planned Parenthood announced that 6 clinics in El Paso will be closed- PERMANENTLY! We know that there was an active prayer presence in El Paso and now the clinics have closed. Prayerful people, just like you, closed those clinics. Also, last week we learned that the four San Antonio Planned Parenthood clinics in San Antonio that were recently discovered performing illegal abortions by the San Antonio Coalition for Life were fined $14,000 each! In addition to this, the Planned Parenthood clinic on Babcock Rd was fined between $14,000-17,000 for illegally reporting abortions from the 4 clinics operating without a license! Without a constant presence on abortion days, and now non abortion days as well, we would not have discovered the illegal abortions or have been able to see that it was reported to the correct authorities. We know that the abortion rate at the Planned Parenthood is down by 46% in just one short year! This number has held steady, even though the medical abortion clients are now coming to the Babcock clinic for abortions. We estimate that over 200 lives have been saved in just 6 months based on the abortion numbers from last year at this time! How many children will be born, screaming in thanks for the life that they now have because their mother's chose life. Thank you for your witness! You are the hero of our day and age! "

The Peace of God

"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Phil 4:7
A person is always apprehensive when it comes to having surgery regardless of whether it is minor or major surgery. It is just human nature to be somewhat nervous.
Well, I am no exception and as the day was fast approaching for my surgery I was bit nervous.
However I wanted to share something with you that happened to me this past Sunday evening when my wife and I attended a Baptist church (Lighthouse Baptist) nearby. When we arrived, the people were so warm and so receiving of us and the service from the worship to the message was very uplifting.
After the service we were invited to have some coffee and pastries with some of the members at a nearby restaurant. The pastor and his wife later joined us. In casual conversation I mentioned to one of the brothers that I would be having surgery the following Tuesday.
As we got up to leave the pastor mentioned that he would like to pray for me. Everyone at the table gathered around me and laid hands on me as the pastor prayed. I have never felt the peace of God as I did in that moment. It was so awesome and I totally forgot that we were in a public place which made it even nicer.
The following day all the way through the day of my surgery that peace remained with me and when I was transferred to the operating table the calm I felt was like no other. After spending some time in recovery and after the sedatives wore off I noticed something else. I had no pain or soreness and to this day which is now 3 days I have yet to experience any pain at all!
God's peace is truly amazing and it is a peace that the world cannot understand!
