The Psalms are full of precious verses that can be applied daily to our lives if we just take the time to absorb their absolute beauty. The first part of Psalms 46:10 which says "Be still and know that I am God......" is one that I love to read and apply to my own personal life.
Last night for example, my wife went to bed early so I decided to turn off all the lights, turn off the TV and just sit in total darkness and be alone with God. This is when I remembered this verse and I asked God to let me be still so that I could feel His presence. I asked Him to help me clear my mind and soften my heart so that He and I could spend some quality time together. At that very moment I felt such a wonderful and calming peace, a peace which "passeth all Understanding..." (Philippians 4:7)
It was also at that moment that the Holy Spirit begin to minister unto me. What a blessing to feel the load of the day lifted from me. To hear Him say, "Don't worry Kenneth everything will be just fine." It was so amazing but even more amazing was when I finally went to bed, I fell asleep with such peace and when I woke up this morning I was totally rested and energized.
Everyone of us needs to spend time in total silence, away from all the noise and distractions that pollute our lives and learn to "be still" and allow God to calm whatever storms that exist in our lives.
I challenge everyone to try God and discover the difference between what He has to offer versus what the world offers. "Tap the secret of the peace of God."
To God be the Glory now and forever!
